Swisscom led the mobile market across key performance metrics
Swisscom was the fastest mobile provider in Switzerland during 1H 2025, across all technologies combined, and also specifically for 5G. It recorded a median 5G download speed of 178.25 Mbps, and an upload speed of 28.39 Mbps.
Kloten the top performing city in Switzerland, while Basel-Stadt was the fastest region
Among the most populous cities in Switzerland, Kloten recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 178.25 Mbps, while Basel-Stadt had the fastest median mobile download speed among Switzerland’s regions, recording 142.2 Mbps.
Salt and Swisscom offered the best gaming and video streaming experiences on 5G
Salt offered the best 5G gaming experience in Switzerland during 1H 2025, while Swisscom recorded 5G video streaming experience among ISPs.

City Performance
Kloten had the fastest median mobile download speed among Switzerland’s most populous cities, recording 178.25 Mbps. Winterthur was second, followed by Zürich in third. At the other end of the scale, Lucerne had the slowest median mobile download speed at 94.03 Mbps, followed by Lausanne and Geneva. Swisscom was the fastest provider across six cities.
Regional Performance
Basel-Stadt had the fastest median mobile download speed among Switzerland’s regions, recording 142.2 Mbps. Canton of Schaffhausen was second, followed by Canton of Solothurn in third. At the other end of the scale, Canton of Obwalden had the slowest median mobile download speed at 60.2 Mbps, followed by Appenzell Innerrhoden and Valais.
