Swisscom was the fastest mobile provider in Switzerland during 1H 2025, across all technologies combined, and also specifically for 5G. It recorded a median 5G download speed of 178.25 Mbps, and an upload speed of 28.39 Mbps.
Kloten the top performing city in Switzerland, while Basel-Stadt was the fastest region
Among the most populous cities in Switzerland, Kloten recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 178.25 Mbps, while Basel-Stadt had the fastest median mobile download speed among Switzerland’s regions, recording 142.2 Mbps.
Salt and Swisscom offered the best gaming and video streaming experiences on 5G
Salt offered the best 5G gaming experience in Switzerland during 1H 2025, while Swisscom recorded 5G video streaming experience among ISPs.

Best Mobile Network
Swisscom had the Best Mobile Network overall, and the Best 5G Network, among providers in Switzerland during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data. It recorded a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 81.64, and a Speedtest 5G Connectivity Score of 73.39. Speedtest Connectivity Score combines key metrics to evaluate the overall user experience that mobile providers offer. It includes Speed Score, as well as indicators for web browsing performance, and Video Streaming Score.

Fastest Mobile Network
Swisscom was the fastest mobile provider in Switzerland for all technologies combined and for 5G, based on Speed Score. Across all technologies combined, Swisscom led on median download speed, recording 133.81 Mbps, ahead of next placed Salt, which recorded 98.89 Mbps, and Sunrise with 85.75 Mbps. Swisscom also led the market on median upload speed, with 23.58 Mbps, and the lowest latency with 30 ms.

Most Consistent Network
Swisscom recorded the best mobile network Consistency in Switzerland, for all technologies combined and for 5G. Across all technologies, 93.9% of its samples met or exceeded the threshold of 5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload, while 87% of its 5G samples met or exceeded the higher threshold of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.
Ookla’s methodology for most consistent network is determined by Consistency Score™, which reflects the percentage of samples that meet minimum thresholds for download and upload speeds, depending on the type of network. Sunrise recorded the highest 5G Availability in Switzerland during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with 85.1% of its users accessing its 5G network a majority of the time.

Video Experience
Swisscom recorded the best mobile video experience in Switzerland, with a Video Streaming Score of 81.77. Swisscom provided the best 5G video experience in the market, with a 5G Video Streaming Score of 84.88.

Gaming Experience
Salt recorded the best mobile gaming experience in Switzerland, with a Game Score of 91.03. Salt also provided the best 5G gaming experience in the market, with a 5G Game Score of 91.85.
Game Score™ is based on Ookla’s consumer initiated Speedtest results as well as Consumer QoE™ latency and jitter measurements taken to real-world game servers. Game Scores are composed of eight components, each measuring a different aspect of the consumer gaming experience. City Performance
Kloten had the fastest median mobile download speed among Switzerland’s most populous cities, recording 178.25 Mbps. Winterthur was second, followed by Zürich in third. At the other end of the scale, Lucerne had the slowest median mobile download speed at 94.03 Mbps, followed by Lausanne and Geneva. Swisscom was the fastest provider across six cities.
Regional Performance
Basel-Stadt had the fastest median mobile download speed among Switzerland’s regions, recording 142.2 Mbps. Canton of Schaffhausen was second, followed by Canton of Solothurn in third. At the other end of the scale, Canton of Obwalden had the slowest median mobile download speed at 60.2 Mbps, followed by Appenzell Innerrhoden and Valais.
