Nepal Telecom was the fastest mobile provider in Nepal during 1H 2025, across all technologies combined. It recorded a median download speed of 14.16 Mbps, and an upload speed of 9.06 Mbps.
Nepal Telecom and CGNET offered the best gaming experiences
Nepal Telecom offered the best mobile gaming experience in Nepal during 1H 2025, while CGNET recorded the best gaming experience among ISPs.
CGNET the fastest fixed ISP in Nepal
CGNET was the fastest ISP in Nepal during 1H 2025 with a median download speed of 97.27 Mbps, and a median upload speed of 95.71 Mbps.
Biratnagar and Kathmandu were the top performing cities in Nepal
Among the most populous cities in Nepal, Biratnagar recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 22.46 Mbps, while Kathmandu outpaced the other cities to record the fastest median fixed download speed, with 87.88 Mbps.

City Performance
Biratnagar had the fastest median mobile download speed among Nepal’s most populous cities, recording 22.46 Mbps. Janakpur was second, followed by Bharatpur in third. At the other end of the scale, Tokha had the slowest median mobile download speed at 6.52 Mbps, followed by Chandragiri and Birgunj.
Regional Performance
Eastern Region had the fastest median mobile download speed among Nepal’s regions, recording 15.16 Mbps. Mid-Western Region was second, followed by Far-Western Region in third. At the other end of the scale, Central Development Region had the slowest median mobile download speed at 10.21 Mbps, followed by Western Region and Far-Western Region. Nepal Telecom was the fastest provider across three regions.

Kathmandu had the fastest median fixed download speed among Nepal’s most populous cities, recording 87.88 Mbps. Chandragiri was second, followed by Budhanilkantha in third. At the other end of the scale, Pokhara had the slowest median fixed download speed at 62.14 Mbps, followed by Birgunj and Bharatpur.
Regional Performance
Central Development Region had the fastest median fixed download speed among Nepal’s regions, recording 80.48 Mbps. Western Region was second, followed by Eastern Region in third. At the other end of the scale, Far-Western Region had the slowest median fixed download speed at 51.83 Mbps, followed by Koshi Province and Mid-Western Region. WorldLink was the fastest provider across two regions.
