Telcel led the mobile market across key performance metrics
Telcel had the Best Mobile Network overall, and the Best 5G Network, among providers in Mexico during 1H 2025. It recorded a median download speed of 82.69 Mbps, and a median 5G download speed of 230.67 Mbps.
Telcel and Totalplay offered the best quality of experience
Telcel offered the best 5G gaming and video streaming experiences in Mexico during 1H 2025. Among the ISPs in Mexico, Totalplay recorded the best gaming and video streaming experiences.
Totalplay the fastest fixed ISP in Mexico
Totalplay was the fastest ISP in Mexico during 1H 2025 with a median download speed of 160.48 Mbps, and a median upload speed of 89.58 Mbps. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Totalplay has won fastest ISP in the market based on Speedtest data.
Monterrey and Zapopan were the top performing cities in Mexico
Among the most populous cities in Mexico, Monterrey recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 55.28 Mbps, while Zapopan outpaced the other cities to record the fastest median fixed download speed, with 109.91 Mbps.

Monterrey had the fastest median mobile download speed among Mexico’s most populous cities, recording 55.28 Mbps. Zapopan was second, followed by Guadalajara in third. At the other end of the scale, Ecatepec had the slowest median mobile download speed at 27.08 Mbps, followed by Puebla and Naucalpan. Telcel was the fastest provider across ten cities.
Regional Performance
Baja California Sur had the fastest median mobile download speed among Mexico’s regions, recording 72.46 Mbps. Sonora was second, followed by Baja California in third. At the other end of the scale, Oaxaca had the slowest median mobile download speed at 24.66 Mbps, followed by Hidalgo and State of Mexico. Telcel was the fastest provider across 31 regions.

Zapopan had the fastest median fixed download speed among Mexico’s most populous cities, recording 109.91 Mbps. Naucalpan was second, followed by Guadalajara in third. At the other end of the scale, Mérida had the slowest median fixed download speed at 81.11 Mbps, followed by Ecatepec and Puebla. Totalplay was the fastest provider across ten cities.
Regional Performance
Federal District had the fastest median fixed download speed among Mexico’s regions, recording 98.24 Mbps. Jalisco was second, followed by Nuevo Leon in third. At the other end of the scale, Oaxaca had the slowest median fixed download speed at 54.36 Mbps, followed by Zacatecas and Hidalgo. Totalplay was the fastest provider across 26 regions, followed by Megacable in five.
