Vodafone had the Best Mobile Network overall, and the Best 5G Network, among providers in Italy during 1H 2025. It recorded a median download speed of 72.91 Mbps, and a median 5G download speed of 241.99 Mbps.
Vodafone and Sky offered the best quality of experience
Vodafone offered the best 5G gaming and video streaming experiences in Italy during 1H 2025. Among the ISPs in Italy, Sky recorded the best gaming and video streaming experiences.
Iliad the fastest fixed ISP in Italy
Iliad was the fastest ISP in Italy during 1H 2025 with a median download speed of 360.42 Mbps, and a median upload speed of 237.62 Mbps.
Padua and Genoa were the top performing cities in Italy
Among the most populous cities in Italy, Padua recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 132.38 Mbps, while Genoa outpaced the other cities to record the fastest median fixed download speed, with 207.35 Mbps.

Vodafone had the Best Mobile Network overall, and the Best 5G Network, among providers in Italy during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data. It recorded a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 75.95, and a Speedtest 5G Connectivity Score of 72.65.

Fastest Mobile Network
Vodafone was the fastest mobile provider in Italy for all technologies combined and for 5G, based on Speed Score. Across all technologies combined, Vodafone recorded a median download speed of 72.91 Mbps and a median upload speed of 12.83 Mbps.
Vodafone led the market on median 5G download speed, recording 241.99 Mbps. Vodafone also led on median 5G upload speed, with 17.52 Mbps, and a latency over 5G at 45 ms.

Most Consistent Network
There was no winner of best mobile network Consistency in Italy during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with no statistical difference between the mobile providers. Vodafone had the best 5G Consistency in the market, with 81.7% of samples meeting or exceeding the threshold of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.

There was no best provider for video experience in Italy during this period, based on Speedtest Intelligence® data, with no statistical difference between the mobile providers. Vodafone provided the best 5G video experience in the market, with a 5G Video Streaming Score of 82.76.

Gaming Experience
Vodafone recorded the best mobile gaming experience in Italy, with a Game Score of 84.62. Vodafone provided the best 5G gaming experience in the market, with a 5G Game Score of 87.13.

Padua had the fastest median mobile download speed among Italy’s most populous cities, recording 132.38 Mbps. Bologna was second, followed by Milan in third. At the other end of the scale, Florence had the slowest median mobile download speed at 70.75 Mbps, followed by Genoa and Catania.
Regional Performance
Aosta Valley had the fastest median mobile download speed among Italy’s regions, recording 81.98 Mbps. Calabria was second, followed by Trentino-South Tyrol in third. At the other end of the scale, Umbria had the slowest median mobile download speed at 56.64 Mbps, followed by Tuscany and Marche. WINDTRE was the fastest provider across five regions.

At the other end of the scale, Florence had the slowest median fixed download speed at 96.13 Mbps, followed by Padua and Rome. Iliad was the fastest provider across eight cities.
Regional Performance
Molise had the fastest median fixed download speed among Italy’s regions, recording 152.81 Mbps. Sicily was second, followed by Lazio in third. At the other end of the scale, Aosta Valley had the slowest median fixed download speed at 51.45 Mbps, followed by Tuscany and Calabria. Iliad was the fastest provider across 12 regions.
